Spoken practice · Coming at launch

Speak with a patient. Build a clear consultation.

Planned spoken practice follows the confirmed consultation format, with retained notes and a patient or carer who responds naturally to your questions.

  1. Prepare before the consultation

Read the candidate brief and make notes during the five-minute preparation period.

  2. Speak directly to the patient

Explore concerns, explain in plain language and agree the next steps with the patient or carer.

  3. Finish for focused feedback

Both modes keep the patient in character. Feedback follows the consultation and uses evidence from your conversation.

  4. Practise the other station

Rehearse clinical knowledge and difficult communication or ethics in either order.
