Your preparation programme

Core Preparation

Learn the approach. Build your evidence. Improve your answers.

More than a question bank: a structured workspace to turn what you know and what you’ve done into stronger interview answers.

  • Understand the question. Explore specialty questions, cases and study guides where available.
  • Example bank. Develop your own leadership, teamwork, teaching and QI evidence, ready to use across different questions.
  • Type or dictate. Get structured AI feedback on your answer, then make a focused improvement.
  • Keep building. Return to saved answers, examples and feedback as your preparation develops.

Everything in Core, plus

Core + Live AI Interviewer

An interviewer, ready when you are.

A live AI interviewer on demand. It asks, listens and responds to what you actually say, helping you practise a natural conversation and handle the next question.

  • Follow-ups that respond to you. Handle the next question based on the answer you’ve just given.
  • Rehearse without hints. Interview Mode gives you a realistic mock, with feedback afterwards.
  • Get coaching when you want it. Coach Mode helps you refine an answer with feedback and focused retries.
  • Fit practice around your day. 120 shared voice minutes for coaching and interviews, alongside the full Core programme.

Live, adaptive spoken practice · Coming at launch

You answer aloud. The interviewer adapts in real time.

Speak naturally. The AI interviewer listens, follows up on what you say and can probe your portfolio evidence when you choose to share it.

  1. Hear the question

The AI interviewer asks the question aloud, so practice feels like a conversation rather than a text chat.

  2. Answer out loud

Use your microphone and answer naturally. Your spoken response becomes part of the interview transcript.

  3. Get follow-up based on your answer

The interviewer listens to the content of your answer and can probe what you said, your evidence and the gaps you leave.

  4. Coach it, then test it

Coach mode gives feedback and lets you retry. Interview mode removes the hints and keeps feedback until the mock is complete.

Built around your evidence

Personalisation should change the questions, not just your name.

The preparation context is deliberately specific to this interview route. The aim is to help you choose, explain and defend your own evidence rather than memorise someone else's answer.

  1. CV, Oriel application or portfolio notes

  2. Your real teaching, leadership, audit and QI examples

  3. Radiology exposure, motivation and specialty understanding

  4. Previous answers and developing Example Bank

Verified 2027 interview format

Two focused stations, with your evidence under scrutiny.

NHS England confirms two online 2027 stations of up to 15 minutes each. Station A opens with two portfolio questions, followed by two further scored sections; Station B has three scored sections. Exact topics are not all specified.

View official Clinical Radiology recruitment guidance

The 2027 guidance does not name every station topic. Prioritisation, uncertainty and teamwork remain useful practice themes, not a guaranteed question sequence.

  1. Station A: two opening portfolio questions, then two scored sections based on the 2027 person specification.

  2. Station B: three scored sections based on the 2027 person specification; a clinical question has a separate appointability threshold.

  3. Final 2027 ranking is 70% interview and 30% portfolio. The MSRA is used for shortlisting.

Preparing the application as well as the interview?

Check the requirements, gather your evidence and prepare your next answer.

Two ways to practise

Learn with support. Then remove it.

Coach mode

Build the answer before you test it.

Coach Mode can use your portfolio and developing examples to improve ownership, structure, reflection and prioritisation while you are still learning.

  • Immediate feedback after your answer
  • Focused follow-up on weak or vague parts
  • Retry with a stronger structure
  • Compare your own examples where another one fits better

Interview mode

Then remove the safety net.

Interview Mode keeps the same personal context but withholds hints and coaching until the mock is complete.

  • No answer coaching during the mock
  • Adaptive follow-up questioning
  • Portfolio-aware probing
  • Structured feedback after the interview
